Perceval (Parsifal in English?) is the knight most associated with the Grail, so that's the answer I would have given. But I think at least some of the lais have Gauvain (Gawain) going after it, too. So I'd say this is a trick question.
Both of your answers are correct, and I would have given credit for either. I didn't give the context of the material we'd covered in class, which was the basis for the question. I wouldn't call it a trick question, though. There's just multiple right answers.
Multiple answers indeed! As AJ and JJD learned from the musical Spamalot, King Arthur and his entire entourage were on The Quest. "Find Your Grail", eh?
